Häufig konzentrieren sich die Medien auf ein bestimmtes Ereignis im Leben des Täters, welches dann als Erklärung für die Tat herhalten muss. Die Gesellschaft nimmt dieses challenge dann an und beschränkt ihre Sicht nur darauf.

Dies scheint mir nicht richtig, denn guy kann ein challenge nicht isoliert betrachten. Es spielen viele Faktoren und Einflüsse eine Rolle, die den Täter dann zu einer solchen Tat verleiten. Auch ist die physische und psychische Entwicklung zu berücksichtigen.

Deswegen möchte ich versuchen, die Täter als Personen mit ihren ernst zu nehmenden Problemen darzustellen und die tatgünstigen Faktoren zu benennen, um somit auch das Verständnis, wie es zu einer Misshandlung kommen konnte, zu verbessern. Hierfür hatte ich während meines Praktikums im ASD die Möglichkeit, Sexualstraftäter anhand ihrer Akten und Gutachten kennenzulernen und Daten über sie zu erheben. Die Straftäter sind vor allem nach §176 und §176a StGB verurteilt worden. Im Verlauf der Arbeit möchte ich zunächst die ausgewerteten Daten vorstellen. Durch die Ergebnisse der Erhebung wird der erste Schwerpunkt auf der Wichtigkeit einer Bindung zu den Eltern liegen. Der zweite Schwerpunkt konzentiert sich auf den Teufelskreislauf, weshalb viele Opfer sexuellen Missbrauchs später selbst zu Tätern werden. Darüberhinaus sollen verschiedene Theorien herangezogen werden, um die Handlungsintentionen der Täter zu verdeutlichen. Im Fazit werden dann die, für diese Forschung gebildeten, Hypothesen ausgewertet.
